Career Lift Studio LLC (“Career Lift Studio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of clients and website visitors. This Privacy Policy explains the categories of personal information we collect, why we use it, when we share it, how long we retain it, and the choices that may be available to you. Career Lift Studio has principal operations in San Antonio, Texas.

This Policy applies to www.careerliftstudio.com, our online forms and signing pages, the Resume Scorer, communications relating to our Services, and personal information we process in connection with client engagements. This Policy is a privacy notice; it does not create rights beyond those provided by applicable law or a separate written agreement.

1. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide
  • Identity and contact information, such as name, preferred name, email address, telephone number, city, state, country, and mailing address when needed;
  • Career and professional information, such as resumes, work history, employers, job titles, achievements, education, certifications, skills, professional memberships, references, target roles, target industries, job descriptions, and LinkedIn profile information;
  • Project and intake information, including selected Services, order or project number, service preferences, revision feedback, uploaded files, and communications;
  • Branding content you choose to provide, which may include photographs, biographies, portfolio information, or other professional materials;
  • Payment and transaction information. Complete payment-card details are generally collected by our payment processor rather than stored by Career Lift Studio;
  • Appointment and communication information, including emails, form submissions, consultation notes, customer-service communications, and marketing preferences; and
  • Any other information you voluntarily provide in connection with a request or Service.
B. Resume Scorer and AI-Enabled Feature Data

If you use the Resume Scorer or another AI-enabled feature, we may collect the resume or text you submit, the role or keywords you provide, technical information associated with the submission, and the resulting score, suggestions, or analysis. Depending on how the feature is implemented, submitted content may be processed by third-party technology providers acting on our behalf or providing the underlying tool. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the feature and to provide the requested output.

Do not submit information to the Resume Scorer that is not reasonably necessary for resume analysis. In particular, remove Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, full dates of birth, financial account numbers, medical information, passwords, and other highly sensitive information before uploading a resume.

C. Electronic Signature and Audit Information

When you electronically sign or accept a document, we may collect and retain your typed name or signature data, email address, date and time, IP address, device or browser information, document version, checkbox acknowledgments, consent events, order or project number, record identifier, and other audit information reasonably used to demonstrate the integrity and attribution of the transaction.

D. Information Collected Automatically
  • IP address and approximate location derived from IP;
  • Browser type, device type, operating system, language, and device identifiers;
  • Pages viewed, links clicked, referring pages, dates and times of visits, and similar usage information; and
  • Cookie, analytics, security, and performance information described below.
E. Information from Service Providers or Other Sources

We may receive limited information from payment processors, scheduling providers, website hosting providers, analytics services, email and communications providers, electronic-signature providers, fraud-prevention services, or other vendors used to operate the business.

2. Information We Ask You Not to Send

Our normal Services do not require your Social Security number, complete bank or credit-card number, online account password, medical records, biometric identifiers, or government identification documents. Please do not send those items unless we specifically tell you that a particular item is necessary and provide an appropriate method for submitting it. We generally do not need your LinkedIn or other account password to provide profile-optimization content.

3. How We Use Personal Information
  • Provide, personalize, administer, and deliver the Services you request;
  • Create, revise, and deliver career documents and professional content;
  • Operate and provide the Resume Scorer and other website features;
  • Communicate about orders, appointments, project status, revisions, support, and account or transaction matters;
  • Process payments, maintain transaction records, and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • Authenticate electronic signatures and maintain records of agreements and consent;
  • Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve the Site and Services;
  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations;
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal rights and enforce our agreements;
  • Protect the safety, rights, systems, and property of clients, Career Lift Studio, and others; and
  • Send optional marketing communications when permitted by law and consistent with your choices.
4. How We Share Personal Information

We do not publish or disclose client career materials simply because you use our Services. We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers. Vendors that support hosting, cloud storage, payments, scheduling, email, communications, analytics, electronic signatures, security, document workflow, and technology or AI-enabled features;
  • Professional Advisers. Lawyers, accountants, insurers, or other advisers when reasonably necessary for legitimate business or legal purposes;
  • Legal and Safety Purposes. When we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, court order, or governmental request, or is necessary to protect rights, safety, systems, or property;
  • Business Transactions. In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal requirements; and
  • At Your Direction or With Your Consent. When you ask or authorize us to share information with another person or service.

Career Lift Studio does not sell client resumes, career documents, or sensitive personal information. As of the Last Updated date, we do not knowingly sell personal data as that term is defined by applicable U.S. state privacy laws. If our practices materially change, we will update this Policy and provide any notice or choice required by applicable law.

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

The Site may use cookies and similar technologies for security, functionality, analytics, preferences, and—if enabled—marketing. Some cookies are necessary for the Site to operate. Other technologies may help us understand traffic, measure performance, or evaluate marketing effectiveness.

You can control many cookies through your browser and, where a consent-management tool is provided, through the Site’s privacy controls. Blocking some cookies may affect functionality. Where applicable law requires us to honor a valid opt-out preference signal or authorized-agent request, we will do so to the extent required and technically applicable to the processing at issue.

6. Marketing Communications

Service-related communications—such as order confirmations, project questions, delivery notices, revision communications, security notices, and legal notices—are part of administering your request and are not promotional marketing. Optional marketing emails are separate. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent necessary service communications.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, subject to legal, contractual, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution needs.

  • Project materials and working career documents are generally retained for up to 24 months after project completion to support follow-up requests, unless you request earlier deletion and we have no legal or operational reason to retain them;
  • Executed agreements, electronic-signature audit records, transaction records, and related legal records may be retained for up to five (5) years after completion of the relevant engagement, or longer when reasonably necessary to comply with law, resolve a dispute, establish legal rights, or meet tax/accounting obligations;
  • Payment processors retain payment information under their own retention and legal requirements; and
  • Technical logs, analytics data, backups, and security records may be retained for shorter or longer periods based on legitimate operational and security needs.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, de-identify, or securely dispose of it consistent with applicable law and our systems.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we handle. Measures may include access controls, encrypted transmission where supported, secure hosting, account protections, vendor controls, and procedures for disposing of information that is no longer needed. No internet transmission, website, cloud service, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

If we become aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will investigate and provide notices when required by applicable law.

9. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live and whether a particular privacy law applies to Career Lift Studio, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correction of inaccuracies, deletion, portability, or an opt-out of certain sales, targeted advertising, or profiling. You may also withdraw a consent when processing is based on that consent, subject to legal limitations and the validity of actions already taken.

To submit a privacy request, email legal@careerliftstudio.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. If applicable law gives you a right to appeal our decision, reply to the decision with the subject line “Privacy Appeal” and explain the basis for your appeal. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a legally protected privacy right.

10. Texas Privacy Information

Texas law may provide qualifying residents with rights concerning personal data when the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act applies to a business and the processing at issue. Career Lift Studio will comply with applicable Texas privacy requirements, including applicable obligations concerning privacy notices, consumer requests, data minimization, security, and sensitive data. Some provisions of the Texas law do not apply to businesses that qualify for statutory exemptions, including certain small businesses; however, applicable duties concerning sensitive data may still apply.

11. Children and Minors

The Site and Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact legal@careerliftstudio.com so we can review and take appropriate action.

12. International Visitors

Career Lift Studio is based in the United States. If you access the Site or submit information from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location. Where additional rights or transfer requirements apply, we will address them as required by applicable law.

13. Third-Party Websites and Platforms

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or platforms. This Policy does not govern their independent privacy practices. Review the privacy policy of a third party before providing information directly to it.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Services, technology, vendors, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised Policy with a new Last Updated date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide any additional notice or consent required by applicable law.
